"Hey heroes! Feel like doing something hero... ic? Or just want to let off some steam? Well I know something that will be fun..."

Dreams

Born from the Collective Unconciousness of everyone's dreams and realities, the Night Dungeons serve as a way for characters to get stronger and work on clearing out areas of the city so that they'll be better prepared when stronger shadows make their appearance.

Note that despite the name, not all dungeons are dangerous!

It would be more accurate to call dungeons ‘dreamscapes’, a place that reflects how a character might view the world around them, whether it is Eddan or their original homeworld. It could also be something completely fanciful where they’d like to go!

While doing night dungeons is not a requirement, it is an excellent oppertunity for your characters to strengthen themselves and perhaps do just more than have a stroll at night.

The dungeons will appear as soon as the sun disappears from the horizon, and disappear when it rises. Everyone apart from the Awakened and soon-to-be Awakened will not be able to see them. There are no set patterns to the dungeons themselves.

Dreamer's Hearts
For each log in a night dungeon, characters can collect a dreamer's heart. All players participating can have a piece, called a heart shard. Note that you do not need to have this happen in a log, but you can add this to your night dungeon log if you desire.

These sometimes serve as currency for certain Velvet and Shopping Channel requirements, and can also be used to access the memories of someone who is not Awakened, which can be useful.

Character may be sent on missions to get the heart in order to speed up Awakening for characters, to find memories of others for their own personal gain, or even commit outright murder.

The dreamer's hearts are always guarded by a character's shadow. The shadow in those cases will be pitch black, except for their heart which will be glowing of a particular color.

It is up to players how they defeat them as shadows can transform into stronger forms to fight back, you may be able to talk to them, or you can simply outright kill them by shattering the heart. But beware, as a new murder might be reported the next day should you choose to do so...

Dungeon Examples

For example, some characters ‘dungeon’ might be a nice relaxing field of beautiful flowers. Characters can speak to the dreamer and perhaps gain information or just come here to relax and ignore them.

Others might dream of far flung planets not out of place in a Sci-Fi movie. Or for the ones who have a strong penchant for dreaming, their dreamscape can be intricate worlds all their own.

Of course saying that not all dungeons are dangerous might be a disservice. Not everyone views the world as a safe place, full of wonder and adventure.

Some may have monsters lurking, depending on the environment.

For example, the above dungeons may have monsters such as these roaming around. Or these. Or even these.

The dreams do not need to be chracters in the game. If you wish to have a dungeon from a close castmate, feel free to go ahead, or even dungeons to characters not at all connected to your own.

You can also submit dungeon ideas below and they could be used in a plot!
