A summoning using the Heart is much more brutal than other Persona summoning methods. As the creatures closest to the character's Heart are Shadows, which one could consider a character's inner demon, demons are the ones that answer the call, even if the user had previous Personas. Other Personas may lurk inside a character, but for now they are unable to act. It is only through the power of the demonic Heart Persona that the Awakened can fight back.
More than one user can have the same demon, but they won't look the same. Just think of it as different aspects of the same creature, changed by the Word of Power that calls them forth. We welcome players to do a bit of research and play around with the demonic concepts. The current demon list is derived from the Lesser Key of Solomon, but we may add to it in the future! (Note: Most of the demons are described as being male because that's how the original text is written. You're free to disregard that completely!) The threat of becoming overtaken by their own demonic shadow always looms over an Awakened. As Personas, they represent the darkest, deepest part of a character's heart, facets of their personality that they don't want the world to see. It isn't all bad, though. The Shadows are part of the same whole, working with the Awakened to figure out the mystery of the city. However, it is important not to let one's emotions take over, as that opens the door for the Shadows to come in and take over. And after playing second fiddle, very few would pass up such an opportunity... Demon List Baal The first King of Hell. A loud, charismatic demon with three heads who can teach the art of invisibility. Paimon A demon with the appearance of an effeminate man riding a camel. He can teach the secrets of the arts and sciences to man and is known for his loyalty to Lucifer. Beleth A fierce and commanding demon who will only serve the bravest masters. He rides a mighty warhorse and music fills the air around him. Purson A demon who appears as a man with the face of a lion. He speaks of hidden things and can lead the way to treasure. Osmodai A powerful demon who breathes flames from all three of his heads. He carries a lance and banner as he leads the legions of hell. Vinea A destructive force who brings storms and demolishes barriers. A war machine in demon form. Balam A demon with the appearance of a naked man riding a bear who can grant great wit. Zagan A master of transmutation who can turn water to wine and a fool into a wise man. Depicted as a winged bull. Amdusias A unicorn with the body of a man and terrible claws that conducts the unseen orchestra of Hell. His voice can be heard singing in the raging wind of storms Belial The eldest king of Hell who can give great political power, but only if plied with enough offerings and gifts first. Agares A demon that may look like a pale, harmless old man riding a crocodile, but who can make those who run away return and those who stand still run for their lives. He delights in teaching the innocent immoral expressions. Valefor A lion with the head of a donkey who tempts people to steal and fosters good relationships among thieves. Barbatos A Duke of Hell who sits with four kings at his side to command his legions of demons. He can foster good relationships between friends and between rulers and their subjects. Gusion A demon in the shape of a baboon who can reveal the deeper meanings and motivations behind questions that are asked of him. Eligor A demon in the form of an imposing knight who carries a lance and rides a skeletal winged horse. He is a great warrior who can predict the tide of battle and how and when warriors will meet to fight to the death. Zepar A soldier dressed all in red who can cause women to fall in love with men, but not without a great price. Bathin A demon with the form of an imposing, muscular man with the tail of a lizard. He can take the body or the mind to wherever it wants to be and teaches the secrets of astral projection. Saleos A gallant, handsome demon who wears the crown of a duke. He is a pacifist who spreads love rather than war. Aym A demon with the head of a man, the head of a cat, and the head of a calf who rides upon a viper and sets all things aflame. Bune A three-headed dragon who speaks with a sweet, high voice and turns the souls of the dead into demons under his command. Baalberith A powerful and terrible Great Duke of Hell who takes the form of a soldier in red riding a red horse. He can turn all metals to gold, but one must remember that all his words are lies unless he's answering a direct question. Astaroth A demon who takes the form of a nude man with feathered wings. He carries a serpent in one hand and rides upon a dragon. He seduces people into laziness and sloth of both body and thought and can give man the power to control serpents. Focalor A fallen angel in the form of a man with eagle wings who was deceived into thinking he could return to heaven and releases his rage in the form of great storms at sea, drowning men and sinking ships. Vepar A mermaid who governs the waters and guides warships. She can make a man die in three days of horrific infections of wounds. Vual A demon in the form of a camel that speaks Egyptian, just not very well. Surely he must be able to do something worthwhile.. Crocell A fallen angel that speaks in a dark and mysterious way. He can teach any sort of mathematics and is an expert at finding natural hot springs. Alloces A red lion who speaks with much seriousness. He can teach all the secrets of astronomy. Murmur A demon who rides a giant vulture as his servants go before him announcing his presence with great fanfare. He can force the souls of the dead to appear and answer any question.
Gremory A demon who takes the form of a beautiful woman with a crown tied around her waist. She can manipulate any woman's heart. Vapula A lion with eagle wings who can teach all that there is to be known about mechanics and engineering. Flauros A demon in the form of a leopard with fiery eyes and terrible claws. He causes the enemies of his summoner to die a fiery death while protecting the summoner from all temptation. Dantalion A demon who can take on the appearance of any man or woman who ever lived. He knows the thoughts of all people and can manipulate them at will. Vassago A good-natured Prince of Hell who is especially good at finding that which has become lost or hidden. Sytry A demon of great beauty who can appear as a leopard with eagle wings or as a man with delicate, feminine features. He can cause anyone to fall in love or to bare themselves naked.. Ipos A demon with the body of an angel, the tail of a rabbit, the head of a lion, and the feet of a goose. He can make men witty and brave. Gaap Ruler over the element of water and all water demons. A great prince of hell who guides the kings of the four cardinal directions or is, perhaps, a king himself. Stolas A demon who takes the form of an owl with unnaturally long legs. He teaches of poisonous plants and precious stones. Orobas A demon that is both horse and man. He's always completely honest and never deceives anyone. He can confer great titles and awards to his summoner. Seere A demon that takes the form of a beautiful man riding a winged horse. He is of a good nature, though not particularly inspired to do anything about evil when he finds it. Gamigin A little donkey demon with a rough voice who can recount the fate of all who died in sin. Amon A demon with the head of a raven who can settle feuds between friends and foes. Leraje A demon who appears as a gallant archer in green. His poisoned arrows cause much painful death in the great battles he spurs men to. Naberius Is he Cerberus, the three-headed guard dog of Hell, or is he a huge black bird that teaches the summoner how to talk his way out of any situation? Only those that call him forth ever find out for sure. Ronove A monstrous creature that carries a staff and harvests the souls of those near death. Forneus A great sea monster who can make those who summon him loved by all. If the summoner doesn't make fun of his tiara. Marchosias A winged wolf with a serpent's tail that dreams of returning to Heaven. He's a fierce and formidable fighter and reliable to the last. Phenex A beautiful bird with the voice of a child, this demon refuses to take any sort of human form unless his demands are met. He prides himself on his poetry. Sabnock A demon who takes he form of a soldier with the head of a lion. He devotes his time to building great fortifications and readying them for war. Shax A lying, treacherous demon who takes the form of a stork. He can rend someone blind, deaf, and unaware of their surroundings so that he can rob them of all they have. Orias A master of astrology who gains great knowledge of people through what he knows of their zodiac signs. Cimeies A warrior on a black horse who dwells completely in darkness. He can give aid in crossing rivers and is generally not as frightening as he looks. Andras A winged demon with the head of an owl who rides upon a wolf and carries a sword. An extremely dangerous creature that should only be summoned as a last resort because he will not hesitate to kill his summoner and go forth to wreak havoc. Andrealphus A demon who takes the form of a peacock and makes a huge racket, but who can make his summoner subtle in all things, ironically. Decarabia A demon that looks more than a little like a pentagram himself. He's always willing to turn into a bird and sing on command. Furfur A winged deer with a rough voice who can great great blasts of wind and crashes of thunder. Malthus More of a follower than a leader, this stork demon sends his troops to provide weapons and armor and help build fortifications for higher-ranking demons. Raum A demonic crow with no respect for authority who steals from the mighty and brings them low. He is also known to fly into houses and make a mess of pots and pans. Bifrons A monstrous beast who steals corpses and marks their graves with magic lights. Andromalius A demon in the form of a man holding a serpent, he exists to punish thieves and dishonest merchants and return all that they have stolen or conned people out of Furcas A Knight of Hell who appears as a very old man with white hair and a long white beard. He carries a sharp spear and can impart the secrets of palm reading and fire magic. Barbas A great lion who can both cause and heal diseases and can change both his own and others' shapes. Buer A demonic centaur who lectures at length on philosophy and logic. Botis An ugly snake demon who can't even turn himself into an attractive human form. He always has big teeth and horns and bad skin, the poor guy. Morax A big bull with the face of a man, like a reverse minotaur, who has a deep knowledge of science. Glasya-Labolas A demon who takes the shape of a winged dog and goes forth to incite violence and bloodshed. He can incite anyone to commit murder and will even make them invisible so the can get away with it. Foras A demon who looks like a big, burly man who can grant his summoner a long, exciting life. Malphas A crow demon that can create or destroy a building in the blink of an eye and who summons his building materials from exotic places all around the world. Haagenti A winged bull who can make a man wise and teach him the secrets of alchemy. Camio A demon in the shape of a black thrush who can give his summoner the ability to understand the speech of animals and hear truths in the sound of running water. Ose A leopard demon that can drive a person mad and make them think that they are anything or anyone his summoner chooses. Amy A demon who takes the shape of a man surrounded by flames. Valac A demon in the shape of a small winged child in ragged clothing who can find dangerous snakes wherever they hide, render them harmless, and deliver them to his summoner.
